This Privacy Policy explains how DeckBanker ("DeckBanker," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and a Google account ID - never your Google password.

What you give us. Community notes, votes and card tags; the cards you track and the alerts you set on them; card photos you upload, or eBay listing links you paste, for a Banker Grade; bug reports; and messages you send through our contact form, including the name and email you enter there.

Payments. Paid plans are billed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. We keep only the customer ID Stripe gives us, so we can match your subscription to your account.

Collected automatically. Your IP address (used to apply the daily limits for visitors who are not signed in, and stored with bug reports), plus browser, device and usage information. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also collects usage information (see section 5).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to run and improve the Service: to create and manage your account, process subscriptions, produce your analyses and Banker Grades, track the cards you choose and send the alerts you turn on, keep your Banker Points, answer your messages, and keep the Service secure.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as they need it:

  • Stripe - payment processing.
  • Google - sign-in (if you choose it) and analytics (only with your consent).
  • Our AI service provider - reads the card photos you upload for a Banker Grade and writes our analysis text. It receives card details and photos, not your account details.
  • Our web hosting provider - stores the site, its database and your uploads, and sends our emails.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

4. What Other People Can See

Card analysis pages are public and carry no information about you. A community note you make public shows the name on your account. Your tracked cards, alerts, votes, Banker Points, email and payment details are never shown to other users.

Banker Grade pages

Every Banker Grade has a public page that anyone can see, search engines included. It shows your card photos, the card's name and the grade. It never shows your name or your email. When you delete a grade, its page comes down.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies that the Service needs to work: one runs your visit, one keeps you signed in on that browser for up to 90 days, and one remembers your cookie choice. These do not require consent.

With your consent, we also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it. They are only set after you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner. We use no advertising cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link in the site footer, or through your browser settings.

6. Emails We Send

  • Account emails - for example a password reset you ask for, or an invitation.
  • Alert emails - price and score alerts and Deal Watch emails, only for the cards you track and only for the alerts you turn on. Turn one off, or untrack the card, and those emails stop.
  • News from DeckBanker - we may occasionally email account holders about the Service. To stop these, contact us (section 13).

7. Banker Points

You earn Banker Points for community contributions such as notes, votes and card tags, and every 10 points earns a free analysis. Points are tied to your account, are visible only to you, and have no cash value.

8. Links to Other Sites

Some links to TCGplayer and eBay are affiliate links: we may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. When you follow one, that site may learn that you came from DeckBanker, and its own privacy policy applies from there.

9. Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your account information while your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. A Banker Grade made without an account is deleted, photos included, 30 days after it was made. A grade you delete loses its public page and its photos.

10. Your Choices and Deleting Your Data

From your account you can change your password, delete any of your Banker Grades, delete your community notes, untrack cards and turn alerts off. To delete your whole account and the information tied to it, or to ask for a copy of your data, contact us (section 13) and we will do it for you.

11. Additional Rights for EEA, UK, and Similar Jurisdictions

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data-protection laws, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (operating your account and subscription), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service), your consent (analytics cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.

You have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us (section 13).

Your information may be processed on servers located outside your own country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized by applicable law for such transfers.

12. Children's Privacy

DeckBanker is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and the Service is not directed to children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete it. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

14. Accessibility

We are committed to making DeckBanker accessible to as many people as possible, and we aim to follow recognized web accessibility guidelines (WCAG). If you have difficulty accessing any part of the Service, or have suggestions for how we can improve, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date shown above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

16. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
